CnerG raises KRW 36 billion, accelerates global expansion through direct supply strategy

Clean energy solutions company CnerG has completed its Series A funding round, securing a total of KRW 36 billion in investment. As corporate demand for renewable energy procurement continues to grow amid expanding RE100 participation and tightening global carbon regulations, CnerG’s transaction volume is also reported to be increasing rapidly. This funding round included participation from institutional investors such as Stick Investment, Hyundai Investment Partners, Kiwoom Investment, IBK Venture Investment, Samchully Investment, Nau IB Capital, and Ubiquoss Investment, as well as strategic investors including POSCO Venture Capital and ZER01NE Ventures (Hyundai Motor Group’s corporate venture capital arm).

Environmental commodities trading firm CnerG secures additional KRW 10 billion in funding

Global environmental commodities trading platform CnerG has successfully secured additional investment. A number of new investors, including IBK Financial Group, Nau IB Capital, and Ubiquitous Investment, joined the round, providing further capital to strengthen the company’s business competitiveness. According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 1st, CnerG recently completed a multi-closing funding round worth KRW 11 billion. This follows its first closing of KRW 25 billion in February. The latest funding round saw significant participation from new financial investors (FIs).

The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Gwangju Metropolitan Government announced that they held the “62nd Trade Day Commemoration Ceremony for the Gwangju Export Tower and Distinguished Contributors Awards” at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Gwangju on the 10th. Supported by KRW 10.2 billion in investment and continued platform advancements, the company expanded its export performance to KRW 1.56 billion in 2023, KRW 16.5 billion in 2024, and KRW 13.07 billion in the first half of 2025. During this period, its global network grew from 76 companies in 60 countries to 242 companies in 108 countries, strengthening partnerships with international clean energy buyers and supporting overseas market expansion.
